Discover Corinaldo

We are in the Marche, a few kilometers from Senigallia, the town, as I call it, daughter of the Belle Époque. We are in a village that time and the hand of man have preserved, in its authenticity.
Corinaldo, a village born above the ruins of the ancient Roman city, Suasa Senonum and which owes its name to the invocation pronounced by the survivors of the barbarian attacks, or “curre in altum” (run up).
This village surrounded by imposing walls dating back to 1480 is home to about 5000 inhabitants.
Here every year on the third Sunday of July, the Festa della Contesa del Pozzo della Polenta is celebrated, a historical re-enactment of the siege of 1517, where about 300 figurants in period costumes participate.
Corinaldo offers an adorable walk on the old walls dating back to the early 1300s, from which to admire, like an ancient lord of the Feud, the immense green moors until the eye can see the horizon.
This town, perhaps known to the most religious, gave birth to Santa Maria Goretti, where his house and sanctuary, an excellent example of baroque architecture, can still be visited today.
But since we are in a “Halloween” spirit we can’t help but tell the most international and meticulously organized party ever created before throughout Italy!! The day of #Halloween and the feast of witches!!
Unfortunately, as with other events, this year we will not have the pleasure of attending his picturesque and scenic performances.
The whole country turns into a disturbing bucolic haunted castle, haunted by monsters, skeletons and ghosts. Its alleys are decorated with a multitude of scenery, from the witch’s den to the werewolf’s den, up to the taverns of the damned where you can find refreshments between good Vin Brulè hot dishes and crackling Caldroste… there really is something for all tastes…!
For this famous party we must pay credit to the tourist association Pro loco of Corinaldo (Pro Corinaldo), which with passion and commitment has dedicated itself for years to the obvious success of this suggestive event.
If you want to savor an era of magicians, saints, witches and knights, treat yourself to a visit to the village of Corinaldo, you will not be disappointed.
